Who am I?

My name is Josh! After graduating from college with a degree in Mathematics in 2013, I somehow found myself in the world of accounting and state government finance. I have been using Microsoft Excel on a daily basis for the better part of a decade to analyze large amounts of data, compile reports and create complex calculations.

Towards the end of 2021, I realized that I enjoyed the parts of my job that allowed me to use my technical skills and critical thinking ability to garner observations from data. I was already trying to learn Python in my free time outside of work, so I decided to expand on that knowledge and enroll in Google's Data Analytics certification program. I completed that program in April of 2022 and ended with a case study project on a fictional bike sharing company.

As of the end of 2022, I've completed Harvard's free CS50 Introduction to Programming in Python course, which I found really exciting. As I go into 2023, my focus is on expanding my skills with Python, learning how to use more data analytics focused packages, as well as shoring up my skills with SQL and R.
